ISSB Day 5 (Departure Day)

Day 5 Routine (Summary)

  • Final Conference
  • Board Meeting
  • Re-testing
  • Departure

Final Conference : At 8.00 AM, the Candidates are gathered one final time in the Johar hall for some last formalities. Here they are given their one side TA (traveling allowance) according to their distance from home to the ISSB center. The candidates then wait while the board undergo a meeting.

Board Meeting : The Selection Committee or the board has a meeting in which the psychologists, the GTOs and the deputy presidents present their test results to the president who then make the decision of "Recommending" or "Not Recommending" each candidate. This meeting lasts at least 3 hours. All the results are prepared in this meeting, but the result is not yet disclosed. The result is rather dispatched at each candidate's home address as soon as the candidates depart.

Re-testing :
During the board meeting few candidates can be called for re-appearing in a particular test. The reason for this is that a board member is not sure about weather to give his/her recommendation for a particular candidates or not, therefore that board member may call the candidates for re-testing to clear any confusion. Most of the times the candidates are called by the GTO or the Deputy President.

Departure :

At around 1.00 PM the candidates are discharged from the ISSB premises, their phones are handed back to them and a bus picks them up from there and leave them on the main bus stop. This is the end of five days at ISSB.

The result of ISSB usually reaches in 3 to four days after the test, at each candidate's home address. The result is contained in an envelop in the form of a letter.

If a candidate is passed he/she gets a "Recommended" latter and he/she is

instructed to report at the military academy for induction in an officers' training.

In case of failure the envelop contains the latter of  "Not recommended" along with all the academic documents of the candidates that were submitted at the initial stage.

Very few times the candidate may also get a letter of "Differed" which means that the candidate is neither recommended nor not recommended mean has not failed but also not passed the test. If someone gets this latter it means that he/she has not exhausted his chance of giving ISSB test, and he/she can apply again for the same chance.
