GTO outdoor tasks

  • Individual obstacles
This task checks the physical fitness, stamina and endurance of the candidates.
In this test each candidates is called upon individually to attempt to go through different obstacles in a given time. Each obstacle different marks. The candidates are once again gathered in Johar hall to view a documentary on the individual obstacles and their proper attempting methods.
  1. Total obstacles are 9
  2. Total marks for 9 obstacles is 44 marks.
  3. Maximum time given is 2 minutes.

i. Tyre (2 Marks)




ii. Hanging bridge (3 marks)



iii. Monkey bridge (7 marks)



iv. High jump (4 marks)



v. Boxing ring (5 marks)




vi. Zig zag (4 marks)



vii. Rope climbing (11 marks)



viii. Tarzan swing (6 marks)



ix. Ditch (2 marks)


There is no defined order for the individual obstacles, a candidate can start from any obstacle he/she chooses and carry-on in any order.

IMPROTANT
Always start from the easiest and complete them as quickly as possible. Do not waste time on keep trying an obstacle that is not completing. Be reckless for this task and forget fear, think your life is on the line.

Precautions
  1. Do not let the rope slip in your hand in MONKEY BRIDGE while getting down. This can seriously injure your hands. Get down gradually by letting go each hand and in reverse climbing motion.
  2. Do not look down while crossing the ditch, this will make you fearful. Just look ahead and make a jump.
  3. Do not get both your feet on the plant in hanging bridge, this will make you loose balance and fall.

  • Command Task

For this task the GTO assigns each group member a task in which he/she has to command the whole group for a task.
The GTO takes a brief interview from each candidate before his/her command task.
  1. Time allowed for each command task is 8 minutes.
  2. Jump and through is NOT allowed in these tasks.
  3. Language allowed is Urdu and English


IMPROTANT
For this task lead your group through the task as a good leader, NEVER stand on a side and order your group.
Always listen to suggestions from your group and give appreciation on good suggestions. Do not show temperament to someone whose weak or who is not obeying/following you. Be polite and gentle.
During all command tasks be careful for INBOUND and OUT OF BOUND areas and keep an eye on other group members too. The GTO may ask the group who's making a foul during the task.
The GTO will ask personal questions as well as general knowledge and maths questions during his interview.

  • Final group task

This is the GTO's last group task, it is a very special one as in this task you will overall enjoy.
  1. The  time allowed for this task is 15 minutes.
  2. Language allowed is ONLY English.
  3. Jump and through is allowed.
  4. GTO can allow anything during the task to anyone he want. (eg. GTO can allow anyone candidate to walk on the ground and carry anything he want with him... or he can allow all group members to walk on one leg and cross the task using the ground)


GTO's Ranking list
After the final group task the GTO hands over one sheet to each group member and ask everyone to rank all the group members from worst to best including yourself, worst on bottom and best on top.



Interview (Dy.President)


In the evening the candidates are called upon for the deputy president's interview. This interview is very important and detailed. This interview plays a very important part in a candidate's selection.

The interviewer asks few questions about your self and many questions from various fields like :-
  1. General science
  2. Maths
  3. Islamiyat
  4. Gen.Knowledge
  5. Geography
  6. Armed forces
  7. History of Pakistan
  8. Current affairs 
  9. Your field of studies.

The personal questions can include..
  1. Favourite food, Favourite activity
  2. Girlfriend/Boyfriend
  3. Have you ever done drugs?
  4. Have you ever had sex?
  5. What if someone teases your girlfriend in the market? what will you do?

Maths questions can include..
  1. 8% of 8
  2. There is a 15 percent discount on a 300 rupees shirt, what is the new price?

IMPROTANT
  • Dress well and remain decent in your dressing.
  • Make eye contact with the interviewer.
  • Sit in a straight, firm, and relaxed position.
  • Be respectful, do not argue with the interviewer.
  • keep a smile but do not become too much laughing (joker).
  • Say ASSALAM O ALAIKUM as you enter the room, and ALLAH HAFIZ as you leave.
